FITS Deprecation Notice.
The FITS data base is being deprecated on the 31st March 2025.
The data is being migrated to Tilde and will be available through the API and visualization interfaces.

The Darfield earthquake caused severe building damage in mid-Canterbury, particularly to the city of Christchurch. It revealed the existence of a hidden west-east fault under the gravels of the Canterbury Plains.
Location history for this earthquake. The automatic earthquake location system makes many locations for each quake. Not all quakes have a location history.
